This easy-to-make triangular-shaped centerpiece accomplishes multiple tasks all at once. Guests are greeted with the colors of the season, a birthday greeting for the honored guest, a trivia list that does double duty as an icebreaker and conversation-starter, and a trip back to yesteryear by way of an old photograph. The best thing about this centerpiece is that once you have gathered your materials, it goes together very quickly. Cut from the burnt orange poster board a sheet measuring 18 by 11 inches. Fold in thirds and use the palm of your hand to smooth the creases. You will have three 6-by-11 inch sections. Use green acrylic paint to write “Happy Birthday” and the birthday honoree’s name on one section of your triangular centerpiece. Highlight the message with gold marker and glue on a few gold sequins.
