There are several ways to make a fake window, however the easiest way is to use a curtain rod, a couple of curtain panels and hanging hardware. Step 1 Determine where you want the fake window to be located. If you are creating a large fake window, center it in the middle of a wall. If you want to create a smaller fake window, position it on one side of your bed or place one small fake window on each side of your bed. Step 2 Measure the height of the curtains on your wall and make a small mark with a pencil. This is where the top of your curtain rod needs to be for the curtain to touch the floor.
