How Do You Make A Fairy Wand For A Costume?
Create a decorated fairy wand that completes a themed costume. With a little imagination and a few materials, you can make a one-of-a-kind all-magical baton with pretend powers that no fairy can do without. Children ready to dress up for Halloween or costume as a good sprite or evil goblin will need that specially made scepter to perform their wizardry. Paint the wood dowel and the wood star on all sides with metallic silver acrylic paint. Let them dry thoroughly. Cut six 24-inch strips of assorted ribbons. Fold each ribbon in half. Attach the ribbons with hot glue (at the fold) starting at the top of the silver-painted wood dowel. Place the ribbons along the dowel side by side, not piled on top of each other. Angle them a bit for the ribbon strands to flair out instead of all hanging down in one direction. Cut four 36-inch strips of curling ribbon and curl on the side of scissors.
