How Do You Make A Face Mask With Plaster?
I am always looking for fun crafts to do with my children, and this is one of my favorites! Last summer my kids and I made plaster molds/ masks of our face. It was so much fun, the kids loved it, and it makes such a wonderful keepsake. First cut the casting into strips about 1 inch in width. Also make sure to have a bowl of hot water handy. Start by covering the face with vaseline. This will prevent the plaster from sticking to the skin and peach fuzz. Next, dip the strip of casting/ plaster into the hot water. Then smooth the strip onto a section of the face. Make sure to overlap sections as you go along, keeping the layers even. Continue to cover the face with strips, making sure to keep holes for the nose, mouth, and eyes. When the face is fully covered with the plaster strips, let it set until it is hard but still maliable. When the mask has set, carefully peal it off of the face.
