How Do You Make A Drum Or Rattle?
Kids and music are a great combination–if you do not mind noise. Noise is a child’s first interpretation of music. Here is an easy way to make a drum with your child to get him started. Step 1 Clean out your empty coffee cans or similar cans with lids. Step 2 Measure your paper to fit the outer sides of your cans. Step 3 Decorate the paper as you and your child choose. Step 4 Glue the paper on the outside of the cans, leaving the circular sides as they are. Step 5 For the cans you wish to turn into rattles or maracas, add beans or rice and close them with lids. More beans or rice will make more noise, less will make less noise. Step 6 Puncture a small hole in the plastic lids with the scissors. Do not make it larger than the circumference of the pencils or sticks you will be using as handles. Step 7 Insert the pencils or sticks to be used as handles for the rattles or maracas.
