How Do You Make A Doll From Baby Blankets?
The next time you want to give a unique baby shower gift, you can make a doll out of three receiving blankets. The recipient simply unties a few ribbons to use the blankets. You can add to the gift by dressing it in a diaper, hat or bonnet, a bib, no-scratch mittens, booties, and a rattle or other accessories. Starting with two receiving blankets, fold each in half. Starting at the shorter end, roll up one blanket and tie the ends with ribbons. This will be the arms and hands. Fold the other blanket in half again. Gather up and tie the folded end with a ribbon. A few inches down from the folded and tied end, tie a ribbon around both thicknesses to form a head. You can fill out the head by stuffing it with additional gift items such as a hat, booties, or bib. Place the rolled up blanket between the blanket layers below the head. Tie a ribbon around the body under the arms to secure in place. With the layers below the last ribbon tied, carefully turn them so they are side by side. Gather
