Have you ever wanted a delicious, dense chocolate cake? Well here is how to make one! • Preheat the oven to 350ºF or 180 degrees C • Have either a 9 x 13 pan or two 8 x 8 pans, that are lined with tinfoil shiny side up. • Cream together the shortening and sugar completely. • Add the eggs to the mixture and stir. • Get the next three things ready to go. • In the sifter, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa. • In a liquid measuring cup pour the milk, vanilla, and vinegar. • Alternate the flour mixture and (now sour) milk mixture in the bowl with the eggs, shortening and sugar. E.g.: flour (blend in) milk (blend in) flour (blend in) milk (blend in) flour (blend in). • Once it’s all mixed together, carefully add the 1 cup of boiling water and mix again. • Place the cake batter in the lined pan(s) and place in the now heated oven. • Bake your cake for 25-30 minutes. Frost cake with a frosting of your choice, if desired.
