How Do You Make A Decoupage Serving Tray?
A serving tray is a great accessory for a coffee table, dresser or console table. Oftentimes, though, store-bought serving trays are expensive or it can be difficult to find one that fits in your room’s décor. Making your own decoupage serving tray is actually relatively easy and is a great way to add an artistic element to your room. Cut out the images you want to decoupage onto the tray using the art knife and self-healing cutting mat. Arrange the images on the tray to determine where you want to place them. Brush a layer of decoupage medium onto the tray then position your paper cutouts on the tray. Use the craft stick or tongue depressor to smooth out each cutout and remove bubbles. Apply a layer of decoupage medium after the first layer has completely dried. Repeat as necessary. Measure the bottom of the tray then cut the felt to that measurement. Glue the felt to the bottom of the tray using a thin layer of craft glue.
