How Do You Make A Cumulative Frequency Table?
Cumulative frequency tables are used when it is necessary to keep track of the number of observations made over several time intervals. These tables are relatively easy to construct, and require a limited knowledge of math or statistics. For instance, if one wants to take note of the number of birds observed at a feeder over the course of the day while also keeping track of how many birds are observed during each hour, a cumulative frequency table can help. Construct your spreadsheet to have three columns. One of these columns will be your observation interval, the second will be the number of observations you make per interval, and the third will be the cumulative frequency column. Construct your table to contain as many rows as you have observation intervals (e.g., if you are going to make an observation every hour for one day, you will have 24 rows). Write your observation intervals down in the first column. As in the above example, if you are making an observation each hour for one
