Another ingenious way to use inexpensive soda crackers in a dessert. Step 1 Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla until soft peaks. Step 2 Gradually add in the sugar until stiff peaks form. Step 3 Fold in the cracker crumbs, nuts and baking powder. Step 4 Spoon this mixture into a buttered 8 inch pie plate. Bake in a 325 degree oven for about 30 minutes until browned and firm to the touch. Step 5 Cool in the pan before serving.
