How Do You Make A Closed Terrarium?

0

A terrarium is a small landscape that includes living plants and occasionally, small animals. A terrarium can be open at the top or closed to preserve moisture and humidity. Many plants that will not grow well in a normal home environment will thrive in a closed terrarium, and they can be made in a variety of different containers. The size of the container is a matter of personal preference, and it can be as small as a 2-liter bottle or as large as an aquarium. Wash the container thoroughly with hot, soapy water. Rinse well. Place 1/2-inch layer of gravel in the bottom of the container. Charcoal can also be mixed in or layered on top of the gravel, if preferred. Add a thin layer of Sphagnum moss on top of the gravel. This will prevent the gravel and soil from mixing together. Add a 2-inch-thick layer of damp potting soil on top of the moss. If your chosen plants have deep roots, then more soil will be needed. Place the plants in holes deep enough to hold the roots without crowding. Kee
