Garden ornaments are a great way to add a touch of color and creativity to your outdoor project, but premade ornaments are often expensive. Instead of purchasing ornaments at your local nursery, try your hand at some gorgeous clay pot dragonflies. These fun projects can be made in a variety of sizes and are a great way to show off your creativity. Choose your clay pots for your dragonfly. Select one large pot for the body and six smaller pots which will be stacked below the first to make the tail. Select small 1/2-inch pots for a small dragon fly or create a larger garden decoration by using 5 or 6-inch pots. For easy construction, choose pots that have holes pre-drilled in the bottom. Paint your pots any way you choose. Metallic paints are especially attractive for making a dragonfly.
