When I bring this pie to family dinners people will cut into it when I get there and hide it until after dinner to make sure they get a piece. It is delicious and will bring you much praise! First in sauce pan mix sugar, flour, salt, and cocoa. Then add your milk and 2 Tablespoons of butter. Over medium heat stir constantly until this mixture starts to thicken. The next step is crucial. You have to add 3 beaten egg yolks. The best way to do it is to add some of you chocolate mixture quickly to your eggs and stir it. Then quickly add it back to the chocolate mixture while stirring. IF you do not do it quickly you will have cooked scrambled eggs in your pie. Continue stirring for a few minutes until your pie is of a thick consistency. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Next pour it into the waiting pie crust. Set the pie aside and now it is time to make the meringue! In mixing bowl put 3 egg whites, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar.
