The ancient art of Chinese lantern making is an easy and fun way to spruce up your home during the holiday season. Hang up lanterns of various colors and sizes to welcome the festive season. On the colored construction paper, draw a rectangle with a length of about 11 inches and a height of about 8 inches. Cut this piece of paper using scissors. Fold the rectangular paper in half, along its length. Once you have folded the paper in half (lengthwise), make a nice crease along the fold with your fingertip. This crease is needed to give the lantern its final shape. Now, place the rectangle on a flat surface with the folded end towards you. Using a ruler and a pencil, draw a very light line about 1 inch from the top of the rectangle. Make markings of 1 inch along this line, till you reach the end of the line.
