How Do You Make A Chanukah Menorah For A Child?
Just because your children are too young to light candles doesn’t mean that they can’t participate in the fun of Chanukah. Here is a simple craft project to make a colorful, decorative menorah with paper, paint and glue. Have the kids coat their hands in finger paint. You can use a variety of colors, or just a single color. Make two overlapping prints on the paper. Make two hand prints so that either the thumbs or pinkie fingers overlap. The overlapping fingers form the shamash and the eight other fingers form the other candles of the Chanukah menorah. Make nine fingerprints on a white sheet of paper using finger paint. You might want to use yellow, orange or red finger paint as these will be the flames for the candles. Cut out the flames and use glue to paste them above the candles to imitate flames.
