A simply butterfly is easy to make, and can be used for necklaces, earrings, bracelets and more. Once you have mastered this technique, you can elaborate for your own unique butterfly creations. Use your wire cutter to cut a piece of wire about 4 inches long. Once you have mastered this butterfly technique, you can make larger or smaller butterflies as desired. Make sure that your wire is 24 gauge or less, as a butterfly requires thick, sturdy wire. Grip the end of the wire at about the middle of your needle nose pliers and begin curving the wire around the nose, guiding the wire with your thumb. Continue wrapping until you have made a complete circle with the wire. Remove your wire loop from the nose of the pliers and grip the wire again just below the loop.
