Chose a shape and size for your brick fire pit. A circle fire pit is an easy shape to create and takes the least amount of material, but rectangle and square designs also look nice. Lay the first row of brick in the size and shape of fire pit desired. Keep a 2 inch gap between each brick. Arrange the second layer of brick in a staggered fashion so that each brick (of the second row) covers half of two bricks of the first row of the fire pit. Again, leave a 2 inch gap.
