How Do You Make A Bowl From A Record?

0

Old, scratched records are easily molded when melted in an oven. This tutorial will explain how to take an old LP destined for the trash and make it into a creative work of upcycled art. Step 1 Identify an old record to be used for your project. Identify a glass, bisque or ceramic bowl to be used as a mold. Consider the size, depth and shape when selecting the bowl to use as a mold. Do not use a plastic bowl to serve as a mold as it may melt. Step 2 Pre heat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the record on the pizza pan, cookie sheet or flat pan and heat until it is soft and malleable. Step 3 Carefully remove the softened record from the oven and place it into the mold. The record will take the shape of the mold. Step 4 Allow the record to cool down to room temperature and then remove the record from the bowl. The record will now be the same shape as the bowl and can be used as a bowl itself.
