These days, with all the free e-cards available, and a million ways to chat online, the old-fashioned written card is getting rather scarce. Still, it is sometimes fun to give (and receive) snail mail. If you are not thrilled with the commercial birthday card choices, or just feel like being creative, you can make one of your own to send. A homemade and personal touch is sure to be appreciated! Use a ruler and pencil to divide a piece of printer or typing paper into four identical sections. (Use a sheet the same size as your card stock. In this case, measuring 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches.) Each section (for this example) will measure exactly 4-1/4 inches by 5-1/2 inches.
