How Do You Make A Birthday Cake Pop-Up Card?
Pop-up cards are fun to receive and easy to make. Begin with a strong construction paper or card stock and fold it into half. By adding strategic folds and cuts, you free portions of the card stock to pop up when the card opens. This is a great way to make a fancy but inexpensive card for someone special. Step 1 Fold a piece of card stock in half. Use your finger to push the fold down firmly to make a professional fold. Step 2 Draw a picture of a birthday cake, complete with candles, centered over the fold of the card. You can use a cookie cutout as a template to make this step easier. Step 3 Cut out as much of the birthday cake and candles as you can with a craft knife. Cut out the top and bottom of cake, as well as the candles. However, leave the sides of the cake’s base uncut, as this keeps the pop-up portion connected to your birthday card. Step 4 Decorate your birthday cake using crayons, glitter, markers or charms.
