How Do You Make A Bicycle Trailer?
A trailer that attaches to the back of your bicycle can come in handy when you need to haul more than a handlebar basket can hold. If you need a bicycle trailer only occasionally, you can build this version that easily breaks back down to a kick scooter and a plastic sled. Remove the wheels of a child’s kick scooter by loosening the bolts that attach the wheels to the frame. Draw a line lengthwise down the center of a metal bar that measures 1 to 2 inches wide. Drill one hole at either end of the bar 1/2 inch in from the ends on the center line, and drill another hole at both ends about 1 1/2 inches closer to the middle of the bar along the same center line. Lay the bar flat and bend the ends up at a point 1 inch toward the middle from the inside hole until the bar is U-shaped. The ends should be perpendicular to the floor with the holes facing each other.
