How Do You Make A Better Cosmopolitan?
I’ve had great Cosmopolitans, and I’ve had really bad ones, too. When they’re good, they’re really, really good. So I played around with the ingredients until I got it exactly right. Note this is not the original recipe. The ones that weren’t so good were usually too tart, so I added a secret ingredient – Grenadine syrup – to sweeten it up a bit. Using Grand Marnier instead of triple sec also kicks it up a notch. Sex and the City might not be around anymore, but we can always grab a little of that vibe by sharing a perfect Cosmopolitan with a friend. In a stainless steel shaker, add ice, then all ingredients. If you don’t have Grand Marnier, you can use triple sec, but the Grand Marnier really adds pizazz. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds. The colder the drink, the better. Using strainer, strain into a martini glass. This recipe makes one large martini or two small ones. Garnish with cherry, if desired.
