You can use virtually any large piece of cardboard–and even a large box–to construct the board. Set a bean bag on the cardboard and draw a rough outline around it. The outline should be about ½ inch bigger than the bean bag. Draw outlines on random spots over the entire board, leaving about 6 to 8 inches between each space. Draw shapes around the outer edges of the outlines. Make the shapes at least 1 inch larger than the outlines. Include triangles, circles, stars, kites and squares. Cut the shapes out with a utility knife or sturdy scissors. Outline each cut-out area with a permanent marker. Have the children color the areas between the holes with markers, paints or crayons.
