How Do You Make A Basic Crochet Chain?

0

Want to learn to crochet? First learn this basic chain, the foundation to all crochet patterns. Begin by making a slip knot in one end of the yarn. Insert the crochet hook in the center of the slip knot from right to left. Be sure to catch the working yarn in the hook. Pull up a loop through the slip knot, pull on both the working yarn and the tail of the knot to snug up the yarn on the hook. Holding the hook in your right hand and the yarn loosely in your left hand wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front and pull it through the loop on the hook. Repeat step 2 until you have gotten the chain to the desired length, at the end cut the yarn leaving a long tail and pull through the last loop on the hook. You have just learned the basic foundation chain for crochet patterns.
