How Do You Make A 6.5 HP Go Kart Engine More Powerful?
I am assuming you have a regular 4-stroke engine like a briggs and stratton or other such mutiple use engine. Remember your engine is only capable of 6.5 hp the max it was rated for safety when it shipped from the factory bone stock. Although you could find custom ( and expensive) parts there are several things you can do now that will make “more power”. The good news is that the same things that apply for a basic old car engine also apply w/a cart engine. The more air moves through the engine the more potential power you can get. If you have a good intake and a good exhaust it may give some improvement but the head may be the restriction. If you modify one part it will make an improvement if done right but you really need to do intake (carb), the head (where the spark plug is), and the exhaust (your current muffler).
