How Do You Make 2-Port Rj45 Splitter Combiner Cable?

RJ-45 splitters are only useful for 2 wire analog and digital phone systems, not for Ethernet networks. The pairings for phone systems are 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, and 4-5 if that’s what you are working with. Single line phones use pair 4-5 so if you want to connect multiple phones to an RJ-45 jack with up to 4 active phone pairs on it you’ll need to pull the pairs to 4-5 for each instrument. (Most phone systems will only provision 3 lines on a CAT-5 cable run to minimize cross-talk. Pair 1-8 is usually left unconnected and acts as a shield to minimize cross-talk.) If you need to connect multiple hosts to a single RJ-45 Ethernet port, you need an Ethernet switch or hub. A splitter can’t connect multiple Ethernet hosts to a single port.
