How Do You Maintain Correct Balance And Weight Shift In The Golf Swing?

0

The correct balance and weight shift in the golf swing are always necessary in performing the correct reproducible golf swing. At set-up the weight should be over the shoe laces,(arches)of the feet. This is an athletic balanced stance which allows the body to move through the full swing without letting the weight move forward to the toes, or to far backward to the heels. On the back swing the weight remains centered over the center of the spine and the center of the pelvis. The weight shift back is simply the weight of the club, arms and hands moving to the right side and no more. On the down swing the weight moves with the club, arms and hands over to the left side by means of letting the weight move over to the left foot with a slight lateral hip slide. This move is much more dynamic then the back swing and requires a thorough knowledge of the hip pivot/rotation move. You will rarely ever see a tour player hit a golf ball out of balance or with an improper weight shift.
