The easy steps below will show you how to carefully wash a down comforter so that it retains its fluffiness and shape. Pre-treat the stain with stain remover. Then, spread out a large sheet on the floor and spread out the down comforter on top of it, placing the dirtiest side face down. (The sheet must be larger than the blanket.) Fold the sheet and comforter in half so that the comforter is hidden inside. Using a large needle and thick thread, sew the comforter to the sheet.
