How Do You Lubricate The Hood/Trunk Latch In A Mitsubishi 3000GT?
The Mitsubishi 3000GT is what’s known as a sports grand tourer. This sporty vehicle is used to being pampered. If you own a 1990 to 2001 Mitsubishi 3000GT, lubricate the hood and trunk latches every time you change your oil, or about every 5,000 miles. Clean the hood and trunk latch using your cloth. You need to first wipe down the exterior parts of your latch. Then, finger out the debris that has collected in the latch assembly. Finally, wrap your screwdriver in a cloth and use this to swab out the inside surfaces of the latch assembly. Take care of the rust that has developed on your latch before you lubricate it. Remove rust simply by sanding the latch gently or brushing the latch with a wire brush. Treat the rusted spots with WD-40 to prevent further damage from developing. Lubricate the hood and trunk latches using your white lithium grease. You need to spray both the interior surfaces of the latch and the exterior part of the latch. Wipe away drips and splatters. Test the latch.
