How Do You Loop Wire Ends In Jewelry Making?
Wire is an excellent resource for jewelry making. You can use it to string beads, wrap beads, create designs and add bangles to a strand. Before you start stringing, though, it’s important that you know how to finish the wire ends so that they blend in with the jewelry and don’t leave exposed sharp edges. String your closure at the end of the wire before beginning your project. If you’re planning on making a bead and loop closure rather than using a traditional clasp, string the bead on. Cut the wire to the desired length. If you’ll be using the wire for more than just stringing beads, make sure that you leave enough excess wire to accommodate your designs. Use your needlenose pliers to grasp the wire end and twist it around the wire that you are going to string the beads onto. Loop the wire around itself at least 3 times. Try to make the loops perpendicular to the strand of wire and flush with the closure. Use your wire cutters to trim the wire end as close to the strand as possible.
