How Do You Locate The Heating Element On A Whirlpool Dryer?
In electric dryers, the heating element converts electrical current into heat. If your Whirlpool dryer has suddenly stopped producing heat, a broken heating element may be the problem. Locating the heating element in a Whirlpool dryer isn’t difficult and can be done with with just a few tools and little to no experience. Depending on which Whirlpool dryer model you own, the heating element can be accessed through the bottom front or rear dryer panel. Unplug your Whirlpool clothes dryer from its wall outlet. Slide a flathead screwdriver or putty knife along the top of the dryer’s bottom front access panel to access the clips that hold the panel in place. Locate the clips 4 to 5 inches in from either side of the panel. Apply pressure to the clips with your putty knife or screwdriver to release the panel. Set the dryer panel aside until you are ready to put it back on. Look for a rectangle metal box that is 12 inches long and about 6 inches wide. This is the housing for the heating elemen
