How Do You Locate The Fuel Filter On The 2006 GMC Diesel?
GMC, a light truck maker, is a division of General Motors. GMC trucks share much of their frames, engines, and body structure with equivalent Chevrolet models, including the Duramax 6.6 liter turbo diesel engine. The 6.6 liter Duramax is a heavy duty engine that was first used on the 2001 models and is only available on three quarter ton and larger trucks. As of 2010, this engine is still in production. The Duramax fuel filter keeps contaminants from the fuel injection system and has a built-in water separator at its base. Open the hood. Locate the fuel filter housing on the passenger side of the engine near the firewall. Locate the fuel filter which is mounted to the underside of the filter housing. Close the hood.
