Loading a handgun is a simple procedure that must be done safely and efficiently by any handgun owner. Load the ammunition in the magazine cartridge. This is done by individually sliding bullets into the magazine by pushing the back of a bullet down in the front and top of the magazine. Once the bullet is in the magazine, slide it down and to the rear. Load each round in this manner ensuring you have the bullets facing the correct direction. Take the handgun in your shooting hand. Grip the handle firmly while leaving your finger OFF the trigger. Using your other hand move the slide (top part of the handgun) to the rear. Looking from above the handgun, ensure the pistol is unloaded. Once you know the handgun is unloaded, lock the slide to the rear. Insert the magazine into the bottom of the handgun.
