How Do You Live Frugal After A Job Loss?

It seems now that most everyone has been touched by unemployment in some form. Either in your own household or a friend or relative. I want to help with some ideas that have been helpful for my family. Please note that you might have to adjust the ideas to meet your needs. I lost my job in September ’08 and my husband lost his job in May of this year. We have been lucky in the fact that he has another job now. It is less pay but we are thrilled that he has a job. I am still looking. I hope these help you or a friend. The first thing I did was make a very strict budget. Look over all of your bills. We let go upgraded cable, monthly movie rental, eating out. There are usually items like can you make do with just your cell phone instead of having a land line too? Turn out the lights when you go out of a room. Also another place we saved was on our grocery bill. You have to get down to bare necessities for a while. Even though my husband is back to work we still live on our strict budget.
