How Do You Light A Pilot Light On A Wall Heater?
Gas wall heaters are a common and efficient heat source in apartments and small houses. Whether there has been an interruption in your gas service or the wall heater has been shut off for the summer, it’s quick and easy to safely light your wall heater’s pilot light. Open the heater’s access door, typically located at the bottom of the wall cover. On some models, the heater cover must be removed by lifting it upward and pulling it away from the wall. Locate the heater control dial and turn it to the “Off” position. Wait two minutes to allow any escaped gas to dissipate. Locate the pilot light tube above the gas control assembly. The pilot light control dial is usually mounted on the front of this gas control unit. There should be a small metal tube with an open end that supplies gas for the pilot flame. Use a flashlight to find it. Depress the heater control dial and rotate it to “Pilot.” Keep the control dial pressed in and hold a lit match or lighter to the end of the pilot tube. The
