How Do You Light A Natural Gas Furnace?

0

Natural gas furnaces can either have an electronic ignition or a pilot light. If the electronic ignition does not work, a repairman is usually needed. Drafts can cause a pilot light to go out, and this can be easily remedied. Locate the pilot light assembly. This usually consists of a gas valve with the On, Off and Pilot settings. Turn the valve off to stop gas flow and wait three minutes. Switch the valve to the Pilot setting. Light match and hold flame to the pilot light opening. Press and hold the Reset button on the control until the pilot light burns steadily. Set valve on the pilot light assembly to On.
