How Do You Light A Gas Dryer?

0

Although most modern gas dryers come with an electronic pilot light system, some older dryers still require you to manually light the pilot light. Gas dryers, no matter which model you own, are generally lit using the same type of pilot system, and you can light them in a matter of minutes. Discover how to safely light the pilot on your gas dryer, and save the time and expense of hiring a repairman or gas service person light the pilot light for you. Locate the gas turn-on valve behind the lower panel at the front of the gas dryer. Move the valve to the “On” position, turning it counterclockwise. Press the button next to the valve, and light the pilot with a lighter while holding the button down. Hold the button down for about a minute to let the pilot light warm up. Take your finger off the button slowly, and verify that the pilot light stays lit.
