How Do You Learn To Read Numbers?
Learning numbers is very important because numbers fit into every part of our lives. In order to learn how to add, subtract, and do any sort of math at all, it is important to learn how to read numbers. Using a number list, lay out the basic numbers from 1 to 10. Make sure that they are in order, from left to right: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 at the end. Place a piece of paper underneath each number. Copy the numbers over and over again until they have been memorized. Use the number blocks and number cards in order to test whether the numbers have been memorized. Now copy the words that spell out the numbers. Write them over and over again until you have memorized them. Work on one-to-one correspondence. Using number blocks or number cards, focus on what each number means. For instance, use cards that have a number 1, and then one item, such as a ball or a dog.
