Sign up for a free lesson at a local dance studio. It will help you get in the right frame of mind and you will learn some very basic techniques plus you will find out if dance lessons are the way to go. If you are comfortable dancing in a group and with your instructor sign up for a class and you are on your way. If you are not comfortable in a group you can learn at home. If you decide to learn at home buy a good basic salsa video or dvd. Be sure to practice in an open spot of your house so you are not restricted by furniture. Wear comfortable shoes. Watch the video all the way through before you begin. Then begin step by step. In no time you will begin to feel comfortable with the steps.
