How Do You Learn To Count Money With Games?
Learning how to count money takes practice. Games are a fun way to master this skill, and provide addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division practice. Play this fun game, which teaches how to make different amounts with coins. Two players are required, but this game can easily be adjusted for additional players. Write different cents amounts on each index card. For example: .07, .18, .23, .49, .83, etc. Keep the amounts under $1.00. Give each player two half-dollars, four quarters, seven dimes, four nickels and even pennies. Place the cents cards in the middle of the players. Turn over the top card in the stack to reveal the target amount. Count coins from each player’s collection to make the amount on the card. The player using the least amount of coins receives one point. If both players are tied, they each receive one point. Turn over the next card and repeat. The game is over when all cards have been played. The player with the most points wins.
