Whether you’ve been playing pool for years or you’ve just recently taken up the game, once you decide to join an official American Poolplayers Association (APA) league team, you need to learn the rules. The APA is the governing body of amateur pool and has its own set of rules on team formation, scoring, fouls, calling of shots and general game etiquette. Talk your team captain and fellow teammates and ask if they will teach you the rules. Read the current year’s rule book to make sure the rules you’ve been quoted are still correct. Visit the APA website and download a copy of the current rule book they have available online. Visit with the local league manager if you still have questions about any game or league rules that your caption can’t answer.
