The Chinese language, unlike the English language, breaks down into a number of dialects, which are different ways of speaking the same language. Mandarin, the most popular form of Chinese, and also the official dialect of China, is just one of the dialects. Other dialects include Hakka, Min and Cantonese. Learning these languages used to cost a lot of money in books, tutors and other resources. However, you can learn Cantonese and Chinese for free, using resources easily available online. Go to one of the many websites that offer free Cantonese and Chinese language learning resources (see the references section).
