How Do You Learn Music On The Harp?
You have a new piece of music for your harp, but you have no idea what the music sounds like and you’re not really sure where to begin. Don’t worry. Learning new music on the harp is a matter of patience and persistence. If you have a harp teacher, take the music to your next lesson and ask her to play the piece while you record it. Listen to it during your practice time; it will help to know how the music is supposed to sound. If you don’t have a teacher, download music notation software. Depending upon your budget, there are several available. If you can’t afford one, Finale Notepad is a free download and is good for beginners. Enter the music onto the program and use the playback method to hear how the music is supposed to sound. Practice the part for the right hand first. Play one measure as slowly as you need to get the notes and rhythm correct. Then add the left hand and use the same method until that is right. Then put both hands together and practice until it is smooth. Move on
