Learning how to become a better photographer is time-consuming and challenging. At times, learning a new technique can become frustrating if you’re already well-versed in a few techniques and struggling with a new one. Choosing a specific area of photography to work on is wise, and finding resources to help you improve is easier if you narrow the scope. Macro flash photography is one of the more challenging types of photography, but the skills you learn can be broadly applied to other areas of shooting. Take classes at a community college, university extension office or craft center. While most class offerings focus on broader areas of photography, specialized classes in light or close-up photography are usually available. If you cannot find a class that meets your specific interests, talk to the instructors or administrators to register your interest.
