How Do You Lay The Second Row Of Laminate Flooring?

0

You’re all set to lay your new laminate floor, and you even have the first row laid. But you’re not quite sure how to lay the second row. Laminate flooring is designed to be laid in a staggered pattern so that the seams are less obvious and the floor is stronger. Measure a full plank of laminate flooring and divide by three. Multiply this number by two to get a measurement that is 2/3 of a full plank; mark a straight line of this length on the wall end of a plank. Cut the plank of laminate flooring on the mark, using a circular saw and making sure you wear eye protection. Snap the cut piece into place onto the starting edge of the first row, making sure to space the plank evenly from the wall. Proceed across the row, installing full planks for the rest of the run until you reach the opposite wall. Measure and mark the last piece of laminate in the same manner as the first, only this time cutting the end that will butt against the ending wall.
