How Do You Lay Pergo Laminate Flooring?
Pergo was first introduced to the United States back in 1977. Since then, the brand has become one of the most popular laminate flooring choices. It’s easy to see why–Pergo is relatively inexpensive, hardy and easy to intall. Laying Pergo laminate flooring in a room can be done by the average DIYer in as little as a day. Ensure that the room that you will be installing the Pergo in meets the manufacturer’s specifications. The subfloor where the Pergo will be installed needs to be clean of debris, dry and level. The maximum moisture level for a concrete subfloor is 4.5 percent and for wood is 14 percent. Fill in any troughs in the floor more than 3/16″ deep with a self-levelling compound. Vacuum the floor to clear any debris. Make sure any nails or other objects aren’t sticking up out of the floor. Purchase enough Pergo flooring to cover the room, allowing yourself a 10 percent overage. For example, a 10′ x 10′ room would need 100 square feet of Pergo, with an additional 10 square feet
