How Do You Lay Laminate Flooring Over A Timber Floor?
Laminate flooring has become popular mostly due to its versatility and ease of installation. Most laminate tiles or planks have a high-density fiberboard core with layers of melamine resin on top and bottom. The top layer can be tinted and applied to simulate a variety of surfaces. Laminate flooring typically “clicks” together, making installation very easy, although some brands are glued down, usually using a “peel-and-stick” adhesive already applied to the tiles or planks. Inspect the floor and replace any timbers that are rotted or badly warped. Sand down any high spots and countersink any screws or nails that are sticking up.
