How Do You Lay Bathroom Wall Tiles?
Ceramic, porcelain, stone or other hard tiles are the preferred wall covering for bathrooms because of their durability, ease of cleaning and moisture resistance. However, many tiles aren’t as waterproof as they might look, and there’s always the possibility of water getting under the tiles through the grout lines. It’s important to cover the bathroom walls with waterproof cement board before tiling, and to properly seal the grout lines afterward. Use your electronic stud finder to locate the studs in the wall. Mark them with your pencil and level. Install your cement board by spreading carpenter’s glue on the back of the board and pressing it to the wall. Sink drywall screws every foot or so where there are studs. Use as many pieces as are necessary to cover the wall, cutting them to size by scoring with your razor knife and snapping them.
