How Do You Lay A Sod Lawn?
Sod offers an easy alternative to pesky weeds, mud puddles and bare spots. It can be costly, but when layed properly, it can change the overall look of your home and increase your curb appeal. While prepping the lawn, keep the sod covered and rolled up in the shade, keeping them rolled to hold their moisture and shape. Prep the lawn by raking the lawn an inch below grade, mixing the fertilizer into the soil while raking. Smooth and level the bed for an even lawn surface. Wet the soil bed with your hose before laying the sod. The first roll should lay snug along the sidewalk or any straight edge. The next should be placed neatly beneath the first- end meeting end. For the rest of the lawn, each row should be opposite the one beside it; such as a checkerboard effect. Each roll should be pressed gently to the ground for proper contact; filling any gaps with loose soil. Water the lawn generously and do not walk on it for 24-48 hours!
