A popular new trend in home repair and maintenance is to do as much of the work as you can, yourself. That often includes flooring such as laying carpet, tile, wood, or laminate floors. Determine where you want to lay your laminate floor, which direction it will be laid, what type of flooring you want to use, and how much product will be required. Also figure out where you will start laying the flooring. Check the area where the flooring will be laid for flatness. If you don’t already have everything you need on hand, make the appropriate purchases. Prepare the floor for laying the laminate. If you need to sand down a few bumps or lay a bit of leveling compound to the floor to be sure it is flat, do this before attempting to lay down the laminate.
